Oakland Co Program To Help In-Need Residents With Medical Debt

Metro Detroit Community NewsPontiac, MI - Oakland County Executive Dave Coulter and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with the nonprofit organization RIP Medical Debt, will leverage $2 million of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars to purchase up to $200 million in medical debt of Oakland County residents for a fraction of its cost, then wipe clean their debt.
