The Ben Franklin Project, Art For $100 Ea.
The Benjamin Franklin Project Exhibition V
In the local artscene, the month of August seems to be the slowest part of the exhibition season. It should’ve extended all year round. Instead, we have this taunting chasm we must cross if we are to get to the other side. Ben Franklin believes it could be done. Again.
Open Call for Metro Artists
4731 Gallery
We are now accepting jpeg submissions for our next opening, which will be on Saturday, August 28, 2010
You can submit up to 5 items, any medium, the reason being you can only charge $100 each for your work. And THIS exhibition, this year, will work without the “protective restraint” of a jury system. Ol’ Ben thinks that it’s the free market that ought to be the best judge as what’s fit to be shown, bought, or sold. That’s right, I said Jury Free!
All I require are the simple things, world peace, the root of pie-r-square, a 35% commission, and an opportunity to acquaint you with our new “potluck registration” form. This will offset the costs from dropping the registration fee. The last potluck at BFP IV was a gut-busting success. I should have taken pictures of the food.
Finally, there’s the deadline. I’m planning to draw up a commemorative price list of the show, so if that’s the kind of thing that thrills you, you should try to get your submits in on time. I am not going to give you a stated deadline, either. I just think it’s more fun this way. The opening is on Aug. 28th, do your best. The Ben Franklin Project has your back.
