Macomb County Festival Brings Fun And Resources To Seniors

Clinton Twp., MI - The Macomb County Office of Senior Services is hosting the 5th Annual Senior Fun Festival, which provides entertainment while bringing needed services closer to seniors.

Annually, more than 2,000 attendees visit this free festival to receive free health screenings and fitness demonstrations, dance to live entertainment, dispose of outdated/unused medications, play bingo and visit the more than 100 vendors and exhibitors who take part in the event. The Senior Fun Festival was established to fulfill the Office of Senior Services mission of empowering senior citizens through advocacy and education.

“It is a wonderful free event for our area seniors,” said Katherine Benford, director of Senior Services.

“The attendees receive so much useful information and enjoy a wonderful day geared toward their needs.”

The Senior Fun Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 21, 2013 at the Gibraltar Trade Center North Show Arena, 237 N. River Road, Mount Clemens. Parking and entry to the event is free until 3 p.m. Concession food is available onsite. The Macomb County Office of Senior Services empowers older adults through advocacy and education.
