Southfield, MI - Progress continues on the reconstruction of M-10 (Lodge Freeway) in Metro Detroit as a three-mile section of the freeway opened Thursday.
The southbound side of the freeway has two lanes open from Lahser Road to M-39. All southbound traffic on M-10 will be directed onto southbound M-39. Northbound M-10 has two lanes open from the M-39 interchange to Lahser Road. In addition, the ramp from northbound M-39 to northbound M-10 is open. In conjunction, all lanes on northbound and southbound M-39 over the Lodge will open to traffic. The rehabilitation of the bridges that carry M-39 over M-10 are included in the $140 million reconstruction of M-10 in Southfield and Detroit. "We are pleased to announce this milestone which will help alleviate traffic congestion on the local road system adjacent to the Lodge Freeway in Southfield," said Paul Ajegba, manager of MDOT's Oakland County Transportation Service Center. "More work remains but progress is being made and that's a welcome sight for motorists." |
