I-94 Project In Macomb County Resumes May 12 Print E-mail
Monday, 05 May 2008

Metro Detroit Traffic NewsMt. Clemens, MI - The ramp resurfacing stage of the I-94 project in Macomb County is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 12. At that time, contracting crews will begin intermittently closing ramps between Masonic Boulevard in St. Clair Shores and M-29 (23 Mile Road) in Chesterfield Township in order to complete this work.

Some ramps will require pavement repairs completed prior to resurfacing. Duration of each ramp closure will vary based on the width of the ramp and the level of repair needed.

Beginning in early June, the final resurfacing of the I-94 freeway will require lane closures on the westbound side from M-29 to M-59. During the month of June, lane closures will be permitted on westbound I-94 to allow crews to complete the resurfacing work that began last spring.

This work is part of a $37 million investment to resurface more than 6 miles of I-94 between Masonic Boulevard and M-29, repair 10 bridges between Harper Avenue and Cotton Road, install a concrete median barrier between M-59 and North River Road, and resurface ramps within the project limits. All work is expected to be completed in early August.
