I-94 Lane Closures Scheduled In Detroit Print E-mail
Friday, 21 September 2007
Metro Detroit Traffic NewsDetroit, MI - Scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, bridge crews will set up a left lane closure on eastbound and westbound I-94 between Connor Avenue and the M-10 (Lodge Freeway) interchange in the city of Detroit.

The continuous single lane closures are necessary in order for crews to repair 12 bridges above the freeway from Second Avenue to French Road, and are expected to remain in place for up to four weeks.

"While we acknowledge the impact this lane closure will have on rush hour traffic, we are asking the motoring public for their patience as crews work to make these overpasses safer," said Metro Region Engineer Greg Johnson. "Our number one priority is safety and this project will help ensure these bridges remain secure for thousands of drivers who use I-94 daily in Detroit."

In conjunction with the single lane closure on eastbound I-94, the ramp from southbound M-10 to eastbound I-94 will close. Ramp traffic will be directed to continue south on M-10 to northbound I-75 to eastbound I-94.
