Oakland County, MI - A bridge project to rehabilitate 26 overpasses along I-75 resumes Monday, March 17, when crews will begin work on the I-75/I-696 interchange in the communities of Hazel Park and Madison Heights.
This project, which began in the fall of 2007, requires traffic restrictions on I-75 to be limited to off-peak travel periods. These restrictions will include single lane closures allowed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. for median pier work and abutment work. Additional lane closures will be limited to overnights on weekdays, and all times on weekends. Included in this $16.5 million project is the replacement of the I-696 mainline bridges over I-75, which will require around-the-clock lane closures on I-696 between Scotia Road and the I-75 interchange. This work is expected to take place later this spring. |
