I-696 Lane Closures Scheduled In Warren Print E-mail
Saturday, 23 June 2007
Metro Detroit Traffic NewsWarren, MI -Scheduled to begin the week of June 25, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin a safety project to widen the turnaround bridge east of M-53 (Van Dyke Road) over I-696 in the city of Warren.

To accommodate the widening project, single lane closures to eastbound and westbound I-696 will be in effect until the end of September. In addition, there will be single lane closures in both directions of M-53.

This project is intended to improve the safety of the intersection at 11 Mile Road (eastbound I-696 service drive) and Van Dyke Road. Upon completion of the project, commercial vehicles will be prohibited from making a direct left turn onto M-53 from the eastbound I-696 service drive. This $1.3 million project is expected to improve the safety of this intersection. Work is scheduled to be completed in October.
