Work will begin on the east side of Evergreen Road and is expected to be completed prior to the winter work shutdown in early December. When work begins again in early spring 2009, crews will start repairs on the west side of Evergreen Road. The project is expected to be completed in July 2009. The project includes bridge deck replacement and substructure rehabilitation to the Evergreen Road Bridge over Ford Road. In addition, six entrance and exit ramps will be reconstructed with concrete pavement, in conjunction with traffic signal and safety upgrades. This $6.3 million investment is part of Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm's economic stimulus package announced in February 2008. The legislation accelerated more than $67 million worth of improvements on state trunkline in the Michigan Department of Transportation's (MDOT) Metro Region. |
