Lansing, MI - The Department of Treasury has posted information on the extension of Michigan’s Use Tax to select services and the increase in the state’s individual income tax rate on its Web site.
Treasury’s Web site also includes updated information on the income tax rate increase that took effect October 1, 2007. Information includes new income tax withholding tables and supplemental withholding guide instructions for the final three months of 2007. In addition to posting this important information on line, Treasury will be mailing supplemental withholding guides and tables to registered taxpayers. Those who make quarterly estimated income tax payments will also be contacted by the department to ensure they are aware of the new income tax rate. Withholding taxpayers should note they will be mailed a new 2008 Income Tax Withholding Guide which will contain updated withholding tables for the 2008 calendar year.
