Detroit Warned Of Imposter Fire Inspectors Print E-mail

Metro Detroit Crime & Police NewsDetroit, MI - Detroit Executive Fire Commissioner Tyrone Scott and Fire Marshal Charlie Pritchett have issued a warning to all Detroit business owners and residents of possible imposters posing as official Detroit Fire Department, Fire Marshal Division Fire Prevention Inspectors.

An imposter fire inspector has brazenly and illegally collected money from business owners in recent years during the month in August.  This announcement is to warn business owners and residents to be aware that no members of the Detroit Fire Department ever collect cash.  In order to ensure that visitors to Detroit businesses and residences are official Detroit Fire Marshal Division Fire Prevention Inspectors, residents should be aware of the following Detroit Fire Department regulations:

Fire Prevention Inspectors do not solicit business.
Fire Prevention Inspectors do not accept cash for services rendered.
Fire Prevention Inspectors on-duty are in Fire Department uniforms and have picture identification.
