"Angel Food Ministries is an amazing program that assists 500,000 families nationwide," said David Walton, Angel Food co-director.  "By partnering with food producers and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Angel Food Ministries is able to provide high-quality food at minimal cost.  Our dedicated volunteers pick up the food and distribute it on the designated distribution day.  There are no income guidelines or personal information requirements other than placing your order in advance and paying for the food."

The Angel Food Ministry at Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene has seen tremendous growth since its inception earlier this year.  The number of households participating has increased 61 percent and the number of orders has increased nearly 50 percent.  And much of the increase has been from word-of-mouth referrals from participants in the program.

Each month the orders are processed and food is ordered for that month's distribution. In May, the orders will be received on May 9 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., and May 10-12 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Warren Woods Church of the Nazarene, 14300 13 Mile Road.  Cash, money orders and food stamps are all accepted for payment.  The food will be distributed on May 26th beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Specific pickup instructions are available on the order form.

In addition to the standard menu of items, each month there are additional specials that may include steaks, coffee or grilling combinations that are available for an additional purchase.  All of the food is individually wrapped, and many items are name brands.
