Saturday, 15 September 2007
Metro Detroit Community NewsClinton Township, MI - A Sept. 18 event at the Macomb County Library will make it easy for any qualified U.S. citizen to apply for a passport.

Anyone planning a trip out of the country is invited to a passport fair at the county library from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18. All services needed for a passport application will be available.

Applicants must bring two qualifying forms of identification and pay the processing fees.

Two 2-by-2 inch photos also are required; applicants may bring them or have them taken at the fair for an additional $15. Postmasters from Mount Clemens and Fair Haven will be on hand to help make sure everything is in order.

Total fees for passports are $97, for adults and $82 for children under 16.

Applicants must appear in person and bring two of the following: a birth certificate with official raised seal; a current driver's license; a state ID card or a naturalization certificate. For additional information, call the Macomb County Library at 586-2866660 or visit www.macombcountylibrary.org.

Passports take about three months to process.
