Sunday, 20 April 2008
Metro Detroit Community NewsMt. Clemens, MI - The Macomb County Library is offering a free program to clear up any static about next year’s switch to digital broadcast signals.

Dale Adamik, a representative from Best Buy will discuss how analog TVs will be affected by the digital signal switch, give tips on how to prepare for the change and explain how to obtain a converter box that will allows analog TVs to receive a digital signal.

The program “Help With The Digital TV Switch” is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. Although it is free and open to the public, space is limited and registration is required. For reservations or more information, call the Macomb County Library at 586-286-6660.

TV stations will discontinue airing all programming in the analog format as of Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009. But the digital broadcast format is not compatible with analog TVs and VCRs used by people who get signals over the air with antennas. Consumers with cable or satellite TV service will not need a converter box.

The Macomb County Library is located at 16480 Hall Road near Garfield Road.
