Benefit For Macomb Food Program Announced Print E-mail

Metro Detroit Community NewsMt. Clemens, MI - Macomb County Commissioners Jon Switalski of Warren and David Flynn of Sterling Heights invite everyone to help feed those in need.

The commissioners are sponsoring a spaghetti dinner to benefit the Macomb Food Program. The event is 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Pantry Restaurant, 34220 Van Dyke Ave. between 14 Mile and 15 Mile roads.

People who bring canned food or any monetary donation for the Macomb Food Program will be treated to a free spaghetti dinner.

People who cannot attend still can donate by writing a check to the Macomb Food Program, 21885 Dunham Road, Suite 10, Clinton Township, 48036.

The Macomb Food Program works with 53 food pantries throughout the county, mostly churches or service organizations. The program expects to distribute more than 1 million pounds of food to about 85,000 people in 2008.
