7th Annual Black Tie & Tails To Benefit Homeless Animals Print E-mail
Friday, 12 October 2007
Metro Detroit Community NewsDearborn, MI - The Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter cordially invite you to attend one of greater Dearborn's most elegant affairs to benefit homeless animals.

Tickets are still available for the 7th Annual Black Tie & Tails being held on Friday, October 19, at the historic Dearborn Inn, located at 20301 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn. From 7 p.m. until midnight guests will enjoy a champagne reception, a seated sumptuous dinner prepared by renowned Dearborn Inn chefs, and dancing to music provided by Steve Floyd. There will also be both silent and live auctions.

Some of the unique items featured at auction include a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the Detroit Salt Mine (donated by the Detroit Salt Company), tickets to the 2008 PGA Championship, and a Flagstar Suite at a Detroit Pistons game.

For the second year, the Black Tie Master of Ceremonies will be Dearborn Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr. New to the event in 2007 is the Four Paws Boutique that will offer exclusive items for both two- and four-legged friends, as well as a Paws Promenade where adoptable animals from the shelter will be strutting their stuff on the red carpet in hopes of finding a new home. Last year three dogs and six cats were adopted at this event and the Friends have high hopes that in 2007 even more animals will find their forever families.

This gala affair is presented by Mary Ann Wright, CEO of Johnson Controls-Saft in Milwaukee. Other premier event sponsors include Affiliated Veterinary Emergency Service, Downriver Animal Hospital, Lincoln Park Veterinary Hospital, Motor City Solutions, Cheryl Brozovic and Richard Gillespie, Dr. Cheryl and Mr. Mark Good, Greektown Casino, Lawrence Technological University, Kay and Doug Neff, Emily Opincar, and Gary and Susan Kuhlmann.

Ticket price is $175 per person, and includes champagne reception, hors d'oeuvres, open bar, formal seated dinner, dessert buffet, dancing, and silent and live auctions.  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Dearborn Animal Shelter at (313) 943-2697, or on-line at www.dearborn-animals.com. And, remember, all proceeds from Black Tie & Tails benefit the over two thousand animals cared for each year at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

The mission of the Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter is to provide loving care and sanctuary to animals, encourage adoptions and reunions, and promote respect, responsibility and compassion for all animals.
