Detroit, MI - Detroit is turning up the global "Techno" music volume with the internationally acclaimed "Detroit's Electronic Music Festival 2007" (DEMF) with Chrysler Jeep Superstores as a title sponsor for the second year.
"Chrysler Jeep Superstores are especially happy to be a major part of another great weekend in downtown Detroit as a title sponsor for the 2007 Detroit's Electronic Music Festival," Schebil said. "Detroit is known around the world for our music leadership and it is great to build on that history with our support of music that started in Detroit and is now celebrated around the globe." DEMF features artist and fans from around the world who come to Detroit as the birthplace of "Techno" music. Detroit tourism officials estimate the event generates more than $100 million into the local economy. The event's Web site, http://www.demf.com, generates more than a million hits a month, reflecting the global importance of the music form to its 18-35 ages, educated, tech- savvy fans. Detroit is the global focal point for "Techno" music due to its birth here, building on the international Detroit music legacy of Motown, rock, jazz, gospel, and rhythm and blues. Motor City Dodge Dealers Advertising Association is also a title sponsor. The Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association is made up of the 39 independently owned Chrysler Jeep Superstores in Southeastern Michigan from Monroe to Fowlerville and from Clinton to Port Huron.
